Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina
A house big enough for the whole family
Stay Close sleeps eleven across five bedrooms and five baths, one block from the ocean and steps from the sound. Everyone under one roof, with enough porches that nobody has to share the same one.

Families tend to book Stay Close for a week when there are more of them than a normal rental can hold: grandparents, a couple of families, a few kids on the bunks. Five bedrooms and five baths means the mornings work.
It's a 1935 cottage that Chris's father, a master carpenter, restored with the family alongside him — the heart-pine stair, the paneling, the trim. It's well made and lived in, and it's meant to be used.

Where everyone ends up
The kitchen, the common room, the porch
The kitchen can handle a full house, and the common room under the pine is where people gather without planning to. The porch looks out over Banks Channel, which is where the evening tends to go.

Between the sound and the ocean
The beach is one block away, about a five-minute walk, and the sound is steps from the porch. The town center is walkable too, so a week here can go by without moving the cars much.
Laura looks after the cottage day to day in Wrightsville Beach, so there's a local person to turn to if you need anything.
